Our vision is that no-one in the world is excluded from education through lack of technology.
Reusing IT was founded and administered by IT professionals working at the very highest levels in the electronic security industry. As testimony both to our ability to deliver and to our passion for our vision, we are extremely proud to work with some of the largest public and private sector organisations in Scotland, and an ever growing number throughout the UK. These organisations are aligned with our vision and values and want to see their end-of-life IT devices being reused to help fight digital exclusion throughout the world.
Working with Reusing IT we guarantee:
We wipe computers to UK Government standards using accredited software. We perform certified secure data erasure on all donated devices by using market-leading Cedar Erase IT which is certified by ADISA. Using Erase IT latest certified version of software we can always ensure erasure to the highest standard, including HMG Infosec Standard No. 5 (the ‘Higher Standard’).
We can also meet several other data destruction standards as required, including NIST 800-88 Purge and DoD 5220.22-M. You can find our policy on data destruction here.
We also provide transparency with data destruction certificates for HDDs, SSDs and other data-bearing devices, detailing the make, model and serial number of all devices that are erased.
Hard disk drives (HDDs) that are faulty or that cannot be wiped of data are physically destroyed. If required we can also provide on-site shredding of hard drives including solid-state drives (SSDs).
All of our policies and procedure in relation to Secure sanitisation and disposal of storage media have been developed following guidance set by National Cyber Security Centre.
Education is the most powerful driver for positive change in the world. It equips individuals with the skills and opportunities to reach their full potential, and is the key to enabling societies to peacefully navigate the challenges of today’s world.
This is the biggest impact of your donated computers. 100% of your donation to Reusing IT is passed on for reuse in education or via other charities, and every computer opens up a world of opportunity to a child who is currently excluded through lack of a device.
Digital inclusion today is simply inclusion in every sense. There isn’t another option. By facilitating access to education, your donation creates a lifelong, long term transformation, helping to fully unlock the potential of the next generation.
One computer changes one child’s world; and changes the world one child at a time.
Current levels of electronic device production and waste worldwide are unsustainable; it is the world’s fastest-growing waste stream, predicted to reach 82 million tonnes per year by 2030, according to the UN’s Global E-Waste Monitor (2024).
This represents not only a huge risk to human and environmental health from hazardous substances dumped into the environment, but an unsustainable squandering of economic resources; just 1% of rare earth element demand for new device production is currently met by e-waste recycling.
Solving digital exclusion is inextricably linked to solving tech waste. Computer reuse, done well, is one of the world’s genuinely virtuous synergies. Reusing IT is an ethical IT Asset Disposition recycling charity, and 100% of your donated devices are diverted from waste.
Strong, meaningful Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) practices increase the value of your business.
By donating your end-of life tech to Reusing IT, you participate in real and demonstrable ESG activity, since the social and environmental impacts of your donation are significant. We are 100% committed to making a real difference. We provide impact reporting through our donation tracking mechanisms and can provide bespoke reporting as required.
Current research shows that strong ESG practices in an organisation are associated with reduced risk exposure, i.e. less regulatory, reputational or environmental risk. This not only increases the value of your business, but also opens up better lines of credit, as well as higher valuation premiums for institutional investors looking for investment opportunities for organisations with ESG credentials.

Analysing global companies from 2016–2024, BCG found that once green revenue reaches ~10%, valuation multiples (Price/Revenue) begin to rise—starting with a 4% premium at 10% share, increasing up to 13% when green revenues hit 60%.
A strong link exists between sustainable revenue and elevated valuations. BCG
Among technology firms, 60% of valuation multiples showed a premium for stronger ESG performers.
More specifically, 54% showed a premium on metrics like P/E or EV/Sales; and 72% on EV/EBITDA.
ESG disclosure—and investor readiness to reward it—appears to significantly influence valuation in tech. rsmr.co.uk
Executives and investors surveyed indicated willingness to pay a ~10% premium for companies with strong ESG records.
Notably, 25% said they’d pay 20–50% more, and 7% cited premiums above 50%.
