Your project makes digital accessibility far more affordable and inclusive

Scotland, November 2025.

This heart-warming feedback from the Manager of Family and Community Development West Lothian provides a glimpse into the impact of digital exclusion and the difference a donated device makes. A local family recently received one of our high quality refurbished laptops via Family and Community Development West Lothian. We don’t hear about the impact of all of our donated devices, but the people working with digitally excluded families see first hand the transformative effect of being able to connect.

“We recently had a fantastic experience working with Reusing IT and I wanted to take a moment to share how impactful their support has been for the families we work with.

“Many of the families we support are unable to afford laptops—especially those with Microsoft software installed. Being able to provide a high-quality, pre-used machine that comes with a fully functional operating system has made a huge difference. These devices allow families to access everything they need for school, work, and daily life.

“One family in particular—a single parent household with two children—received a laptop through this initiative. The children rely on digital access for all their schoolwork, but until now, they didn’t have a device at home. In today’s digital world, that lack of access presents a significant barrier. Thanks to Reusing IT, this family now has the tools they need to stay connected and succeed.

“Your project makes digital accessibility far more affordable and inclusive, and we truly appreciate the work you do. It’s a privilege to be able to pass these opportunities on to the families who need them most.”
